Expert Lecture on Cloud Computing, AWS and Cloud Security at PEC

As part of the Industry-Academia Lecture Week, the Department of Mathematics, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organized an expert lecture on “Cloud Computing Overview (AWS)” on 16 September 2026 in L-30. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Vipan Kumar, Director, U-Net Solutions, Moga, Punjab. 

The session was organized with the objective of familiarizing students with the fundamentals of cloud computing and its applications in modern information technology and engineering. During the lecture, Mr. Vipan Kumar provided an overview of cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS). He explained the basic concepts and importance of cloud-based computing, along with the way cloud platforms provide scalable and flexible computing resources. 

The speaker discussed various aspects of AWS and highlighted its relevance in contemporary technological applications. The speaker explained how firewall security helps control network traffic, restrict unauthorized access, and protect applications and data from potential security threats. 

The discussion helped students understand that security is an essential component of deploying and managing cloud services. The lecture was highly informative and engaging, attracting a diverse audience, including students, faculty members, and industry professionals. 

The interactive Q&A session at the end allowed participants to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into career prospects in technology-driven industries.
