Beyond the Ordinary: Inspiring Innovation and Entrepreneurship

What happens when technology meets curiosity, creativity and the courage to build? Day 7 of Orientation 2026 at Punjab Engineering College featured an engaging speaker session by Mr. Sudhendu Sharma, a Technology Entrepreneur, AI Innovator and Robotics Expert, and Founder of Terramind Edtech Pvt. Ltd. and Drift Developers. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he brings together academic expertise and hands-on experience across AI, robotics, automation and emerging technologies. The session explored the rapidly changing world of technology while encouraging students to look beyond conventional career paths and think like entrepreneurs. A key message was the importance of curiosity — seeing a problem, asking questions, building a solution, testing it, learning from failure and continuously improving. Students were also reminded that their degree is a starting point, not a limitation, and that the ability to learn, adapt and create will remain essential in a rapidly evolving world. From entrepreneurship and innovation to smart risk-taking and unconventional careers, the session encouraged the incoming batch to think beyond the ordinary and create possibilities of their own. A session that left students with one simple thought: don’t just prepare for the future — build it.
